Here’s how to celebrate Halloween in a fun and heart-healthy way.
Just because it’s Halloween doesn’t mean you have to take a break from your heart health! Keep an eye on how many sweets and treats you snack on, whether you’re out trick or treating or just helping yourself to the candy bowl in between trick-or-treaters.
It’s also important to stay social! Maintaining a thriving social life can help improve mood, reduce stress, and stave off loneliness. Halloween is a great time to get out and connect with your social group, in whatever way that means the most to you!
If you’re out of ideas on how to celebrate, we’ve made a quick list of some fun Halloween activities to do with your friends and family this year.

Halloween isn’t all about chowing down on buckets full of candy or drinking the night away at a costume party with friends. There are plenty of fun and festive ways to enjoy Halloween.
Although carving pumpkins and watching scary movies is pretty fun, we know that not everyone chooses to celebrate Halloween. There are still ample ways to ring in the cooler, golden, and red months of the year! If Halloween just isn’t your thing, why not host a fall food drive to help give back to your local food bank? Lots of people save food drives like this until Thanksgiving, but they are needed year round. It’s a fun, non-spooky way to give back and feel good.
If volunteering isn’t your idea of a good time (even though it has excellent health benefits), why not plan a harvest time fall dinner party with friends? We have plenty of delicious and nutritious dinner ideas in our FREE Heart Healthy Dinners Cookbook.
No matter how you choose to celebrate Halloween (or not!), here at Kaneka we hope you have a delightful (and not too spooky) holiday this October. For more fun ways to get into heart health, join our Healthy Heart Challenge!
